What is permanent make up
Permanent make up involves the application of pigment into the skin. A professional artist will use specialist equipment and techniques to ensure that your procedure is as comfortable and as highly effective as can be. Although the treatments use needles, these do not penetrate as deep into the skin as tattooing and the needles are smaller which makes the treatment a lot less painful than a conventional tattoo.
What can Semi-permanent make up do for me?
For a start it can save you a lot of time, imagine not having to put your make up on every morning, just waking up with perfect eyebrows, defined eyes and contoured lips. If you have very sparse eyebrows due to over plucking, aging, medication or illness you can have them back, how wonderful would that be. Some people have active jobs that prevent from wearing make or others simply cannot wear conventional make up due to allergies, there is a wide range of benefits to semi-permanent make up
How long does it last?
This varies from person to person because skin type, diet, health, medication, genetics and environmental factors can all contribute to how long the pigments will be retained. As a general guide semi-permanent make up can last around one to five years, a top up would be required after 12 – 18 months as the colour will start to fade and require a refresh.
Healing and Aftercare
Immediately after your treatment on eyebrows and eyeliner they will appear up to 50% darker than healed color this will slowly change as they heal and after two weeks you should notice the true color emerging. Lips are often very intense to begin with but soften within a few days unlike brows the lips tend to swell and can experience some scabbing in the healing process. Eyes often swell but go down soon after.
All procedures need to be kept dry for two weeks to avoid infection and retain pigment, this is very important. A healing balm is provided with each treatment with instruction on how to use.
I am always available for any clients who need advice or reassurance during the healing process.
